Three Types of Blades

DRESSING TIPS

Extended Type Blades

Extended type blades should be used for most electrode dressing applications. They can be used with either the YNR-8F handheld dresser or with the SS-1 shank for use in a drill press. When using the handheld dresser, a minimum clearance of 1.5″ between the upper and lower electrodes (4 & 5 RW).

Extended Type 4RW

For 4RW electrodes, blades should be assembled with C-1 chuck, N-1 nut, and R-2A ring.

Extended Type 5RW

For 5RW electrodes, blades should be assembled with C-1 chuck, N-1 nut, and R-1 ring.

Extended Type 6RW

For 6RW electrodes, blades should be assembled with C-2 chuck and N-2 ring.

Extended Type 7RW

For 7RW electrodes, blades should be assembled with C-2 chuck and N-3 ring.

Flush-Type Tapered

Flush-type tapered blades are used when dressing tapered-nose type welding electrodes such as CMW 322-0844-44 or Tuffaloy FA-25214-16.

Flush-Type Straight Blades

Flush-type straight blades are similar to the extended-type in that they are used to dress 4 & 5 RW electrodes but require a clearance of only 0.75″ between the upper and lower electrodes.

Flush-Type Straight 4RW

For 4RW electrodes, blades should be assembled with a C-6A chuck.

Flush-Type Straight 5RW

For 5RW electrodes, blades should be assembled with a C-5 chuck.
